Janet Dunderdale, Business and Information Technology Teacher at Warren County High School and Ernie Conner, Director of Career and Technical Education for the school district, attended round table discussions with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and Microsoft officials concerning the implementation of the Microsoft IT Academy in North Carolina High Schools. Warren County High School was selected as a pilot site for this program in the fall 2010 semester. Ms. Dunderdale was able to provide input on how her students did in the pilot course and to hear best practices and ideas from the other pilot schools. This session was held on Feb 15, 2011 at DPI in Raleigh. On February 16th, Mr. Conner returned to DPI and met with selected CTE Directors and Microsoft to discuss how the Microsoft IT Academy curriculum could be expanded to additional CTE courses and programs.
