La Tonya Patillo, from Governor Roy Cooper's office met with the Advanced Manufacturing Skills Training Alliance this week to discuss how the Education Workforce Innovation Grant funds have helped students in Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Countys over the past three years. The group talked about the wide range of staff development that had been conducted and the student internships that were available because of the grant. The group also discussed in great length the Summer Cruising event for teachers that allow them to see various advanced manufacturing industries. Attending the meeting with Ms. Patillo were, Stephanie Ayers, AMSTA Coordinator, Laureen Jones, Director of Career and Technical Education for Franklin County Schools, Willa Clark, CTE Director for Vance County Schools, and Ernie Conner, Director of Technology and CTE for Warren County Schools. Stan Winborne, CTE Director of Granville County Schools was unable to attend.
