Jonte Hawkins, Construction Technology and Solar Teacher at Warren County High School gave a presentation to the group and introduced his new solar training classroom and equipment. Students in the Engineering and Construction Technology Academy will have the opportunity to complete courses in electrical and solar energy.
Some members of the group climbed on the roof at Warren County High School and checked out the solar farm that is located at the school. The students have access to monitor the energy being produced using a real time monitoring system. They also have access to a four panel ground unit located behind the school.
After lunch, the group traveled to Vance Granville Community College to hear a presentation from Robert Hudson, from the Sustainability Technologies Program. He shared with the group about the certificate and diploma programs available at VGCC for students graduating from high school. Check out the pictures below.
