Advanced Manufacturing Skills Training Alliance Crusiers 2016 Highlights Day 1 Part 3
The final part of day 1 was a visit to Semprius Solar. They produce a special solar panel that is designed to be more efficient than the normal panel. However, we learned from the presenters that these panels need more direct sunlight and do not work very well in North Carolina. They are normally shipped to areas that get more direct sunlight such as Arizona, desert areas in Nevada and California and Alaska. Jim Carter,Director of FE Technology and Manufacturing at Semprius and his staff gave us an extensive tour and presentation.
